Hi there. Just dloaded the app for editing some PNG and JPG images.
I got a Snow Leopard 10.6.2 running on MacBook Pro 13' 2.26Ghz with 6Gb RAM (NVIDIA GeForce 9400M), and the problem mentioned above is happening. Whenever i try to open a file of existing image, it opens w new window on the image proportion but with the fill all in black.

Hope this helps in some way... If you need any extra info, just contact me on the e-mail provided.

Yes it will definitely the last since the code is not maintainable.

If there is ever a new version it will start with "File -> New Project".

Oops, I didn't read the news.

Do you mean version 0.909 will be the last? Remember what John Lennon sang in 1970: "I'm traveling on the one after 909"!

I expect at least that!

Carlo.

Wow, a very promising photo editor!
I use an old emac with Tiger 10.4.11, and I was tired of hearing that gimp/photoshop/all-the-rest is up for Intel Mac and us ppc users let down!

Do you plan to make up a real manual? I'm curious to know all of its capabilities, and to use it as my current digital photo editor.

Ciao!

Carlo

I am not that free actually :-) I still have a full time job + several (small, manageable and ultimately useless) iPhone apps. That still takes up a lot of the time I already didn't have to spend on ChocoFlop.

It was a decision that made itself over the years. Keep in mind the previous update dates from march. So while the app still kinda worked I knew that if at some point a big system upgrade required a lot of fixes I wouldn't be able to do it.

I might dabble with coreimage again in the future but yes next time i'lll be more careful about writing code that I can maintain. Oh and snow leopard tech would make the horrible threading system a bit easier and cleaner I guess. Reading about grand central dispatch nearly makes me want to actually start a new codebase. But time is a scarce resource and now I use my free dev time for smaller projects.

Now after upgrading to Snow Leopard when I try to open a jpg image I just get a black image window. ie No image shows. I did email Santiago about this but never mentioned what hardware I use. It is a new unibody macbook pro 17 inch. Not sure what the graphics card is or how I would find that out, but it is the latest model. Good luck with sorting this out as ChocFlop is my favourite image editor. I;m not a graphics power user and it does all I want to do very nicely. I don;t want to change to bloatware, so I don't mind waiting.

Received Snow Leopard (in the USA) August 28. Major problem with Chocflop as you mention.
FYI if I try to open a jpg previously scanned, which I state open with external program Chocoflop i get the following message:
'update WindowImage'
Exception type: ClkernalNil Agreement
Reason
CICrop:crop:nilvalue for arguments #0 (src).

Next problem, the Bug report comes up then when try to send it states URL for server not found
Apache/2.2.3 (Debian) PHP/5.2.0-8+etch15 mod_ssl/2.2.3 OpenSSL/0.9.8c Server at bugs.chocoflop.com Port 80

Next problem, unable to close this report, keeps appearing again and finally have to use ForceQuit to get out of Chocoflop.
Hope that you can come up with a fix as I really like using your program
Best wishes

Ok, I can't post anything new before I restore the backoffice part of this website (lost during the crash disk that happened after this post) so I'll post a comment like a mere user :-)

I have installed Snow Leopard today and found numerous issues. I'll try to fix them ASAP (this week-end probably if I find the strength).
